Ed Macke, Head Mechanic

Ed Macke
Head Mechanic

Meet Ed Macke. He's a man of few words except when you start talking about rebuilding engines. Vroom vroom! Ed has worked at European Auto Repair for more than 40 years. Yeah. You read that correctly. Forty. Years. Macke is a true OG. Richard McCary's right-hand man.

If you haven't quite figured it out just yet, Macke specializes in vintage and antique automobiles. He is more than confident in all aspects of self-diagnosis and the driveability of vehicles that can not be diagnosed by contemporary methods such as computers. That means Macke knows his stuff (for lack of using another word).

Back in the day, Ed started out as a mechanic at the Brenson Company, rebuilding short block engines. Macke could rebuild two diesel engines per day on a steel table he had sitting outside the shop. More interesting than that, he can pull apart, fix and reconstruct a five-cylinder turbo engine in less than six hours. Now that, ladies and gentlemen, is freaking amazing.

We could list out a whole series of accolades for Ed, but the most important ones are the following: he's a hell of a guy, loyal, and family. There are no two ways about it. Thank you, Ed.
